Students from across Europe joined forces to mark Safer Internet Day (SID) 2025 with a creative and meaningful collaborative activity titled "SID Celebration."

The goal was to raise awareness about online safety and responsible internet use through coding, art, and digital collaboration. The activity included the following parts:

1. SID Poster 2025

2. Code Week Event 2025

3. Internet Health and Safety (Optional Activity)

1. SID Poster 2025 - Offline Coding for Online Safety

Each partner school was assigned a letter, number, or symbol from the slogan "BE RESPONSIBLE! SAFER INTERNET DAY 2025!"

Students designed and decorated their assigned character on an A4 grid/maths sheet, using their own unique style, colors, and creativity. 

These individual designs were then uploaded to a shared Padlet wall:

All the students' creations were then brought together to form an impressive collaborative poster, reflecting the spirit of cooperation among students from many European countries.

2. SID Coding Certificates

Participants celebrated their involvement in the “SID Celebration 2025” coding challenge. Coding event certificates:

This highlighted the link between digital creativity and responsible tech use.

3. Internet Health and Safety (Optional)

The participating schools also shared photos and videos of classroom activities focused on safe and healthy internet use, as well as the development of responsible digital habits.

Students in mixed, transnational teams participated in our third collaborative activity, titled "PLANTS' SECRETS." In this activity, students explored plants from various geographical areas, uncovering their hidden beauty, cultural symbolism, and lesser-known facts.

The activity included three main steps:

1.Untold Stories about Plants

2. Yuri's Art

3. Let's Discover Plants

1. "Untold Stories about Plants" – The Online Magazine

Each participating school researched a unique plant native to their country and wrote a short article (1–2 pages), including a photo and information about the plant—such as its symbolism, benefits, superstitions, or curious stories. 

These articles were collected and published in a collaborative online magazine created with Canva, titled "Untold Stories about Plants" :

2. Yuri’s Art – Drawing with Augmented Reality

In the next stage, students from other partner schools read the articles and illustrated the described plant using Yuri the Painter Coloring Sheets “Yuri the Painter”, which were then brought to life through the Quiver Augmented Reality app.

This activity allowed students to combine creativity with digital technology while learning about nature.

3. Let’s Discover Plants – A Collaborative Kahoot Game

To complete the cycle of sharing knowledge, the third school in each team created interactive questions based on the articles they read, contributing to a collaborative Kahoot quiz game titled “Let’s Discover Plants.” This innovative and collaborative task not only enhanced digital, artistic, and linguistic skills, but also promoted environmental education and intercultural understanding among students.

This game enabled students to test their knowledge while having fun and learning about flora from across Europe.

CHRISTMAS TREE STORY - The second collaborative activity - 7th Primary school of Thebes in Greece

Teachers: ΕΙΡΗΝΗ ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ, ΜΑΡΙΑ ΠΑΠΑΧΡΗΣΤΟY

Students participated in the second collaborative activity, titled "CHRISTMAS TREE STORY". Through this activity, children explored the magic of plants, especially the Christmas Tree, a symbol of celebration and harmony during the Winter Holidays.

The activity was divided into two creative parts:

1. Winter Holidays' Magic

Students discovered the joy and wonder of the Fir Tree, a plant that symbolizes warmth and celebration during Christmas and New Year. Using Quiver's 3D Coloring Sheets, students colored festive holiday images and brought them to life through Augmented Reality, experiencing the magic in a unique and interactive way.

2. Our Christmas Tree Posters

In this part, students contributed to the creation of two collaborative Christmas Tree poster. Each team received a sheet from the collaborative design, colored it, and uploaded a clear photo of it to a Padlet, along with its number and calendar reference. All the colored pieces were then assembled into two beautiful posters using Canva – a celebration of teamwork and festive spirit.

This collaborative action allowed students to express their creativity, celebrate cultural traditions, and feel connected across borders during one of the most joyful times of the year.

 

 

As part of the New Year Fair organized by the Second Foreign Languages Department at our school, our eTwinning students took part in the event with their specially designed postcards featuring flowers and their meanings accross the partner countries. The postcards were prepared with the support of our school's Robotics Club and attracted great attention at the fair.

 PLANTS IN A DIFFERENT VIEW – A Creative European Collaboration!

Teachers: ΕΙΡΗΝΗ ΜΑΤΣΑΓΓΟΥΡΑ, ΜΑΡΙΑ ΠΑΠΑΧΡΗΣΤΟΥ

Our first international activity, titled "PLANTS IN A DIFFERENT VIEW." In this collaborative action, students from various European schools work in mixed transnational teams to observe and study plants in innovative and creative ways.

The project began with an open vote using Google Forms, where students selected 35 favorite plants such as rose, lavender, sunflower, lily of the valley, peony, daisy, violet, lily, don't forget me, snowdrop, strelitzia, crocus, jasmine,  magnolia, liliac, iris flower, pansy, hydrangea, hyacinth, chamomile,  carnation, cherry blossom, poppy, camelia, chrysanthemum, gladiolus, azalea, tulip, daffodil, lotus flower, gerbera daisy, dandelion, hibiscus and meadow buttercup. Each team chose one plant to explore in depth.

The main goal of this activity was to create a collaborative digital book, using Book Creator, where each plant was presented through a series of fun and educational digital tasks:

1. AI PICTURE PLANT – students created an AI-generated image of their plant using Canva.

2. CHATTERPIX PLANT – with the help of ChatterPix, plants "talk" and introduce themselves!

3. PIXEL ART PLANT – students coded their plant using a pixel art tool.

4. PLANT PUZZLE – students designed plant puzzles based on their plant image.

5. FLAMING TEXT PLANT – students created artistic logos with the name of their plant with FlamingText app.

6. REBUS PUZZLE PLANT – students wrote the name of their plant using emojis and symbols.

As part of EU Code Week 2024, participants also took part in the “Plants in a Coding View” event and proudly uploaded their certificates of participation.

This cross-border collaboration strengthens not only students’ digital and creative skills, but also promotes European teamwork, environmental awareness, and 21st-century learning.
